We are here to state that, unlike popular belief, money is not neutral; it is never just money!
We are not dealing with stock, but with the value of money itself.
There have been popular expressions that hint at this emerging wisdom, such as “blood money”, money that has been connected to (human or not) suffering and death. Yet it is worth just as much as any other money and in that lays one of the tragedies of this planet.
Could the change we are bringing forth involve re-valuing money? What would happen if environmental, human, ethical values served as the measuring standard from which a ratio could be calculated? And what would happen also if negative ratios were possible (as a dear one proposed) precisely for “blood money”?
What matters to the world now?
Clean, abundant water;
clean, abundant, inexpensive, energy;
shared knowledge and information;
recovering the ecosystems;
ending hunger and poverty;
ending war;
…
So imagine money from human traffic, war mongering and the like. What value shall we attribute to it? -1/10? - 1/100?
What about some progressive venture, a teen scientist who just found a way to detect early stages of cancer in a non-intrusive way. How much is it worth human and planetwise ? X10?x100? Let's update that bank account! And so on...
Imagine what the financial landscape would look like after those changes? What chances of freedom would have become actualities? A world of fairness, perhaps.
Shall we make it happen?
